This release improves profile photo reliability in Find Friends.

What’s New in 1.5.5​

👥 Feature: More Reliable Friend Profile Photos​

  • Find Friends now has a stronger fallback path when loading Clerk profile photos.
  • If the first image request path fails, the app retries with a fallback request path.
  • This reduces cases where friend cards show default/fallback avatars instead of the user’s Clerk photo.

🔒 Feature: Safer Image Fetch Handling​

  • The student picture endpoint now handles token verification failures more gracefully for image lookup.
  • Profile photo lookups are more resilient to transient auth validation issues.

Impact​

  • Friend search results are more likely to show the correct Clerk profile image.
  • Students should see fewer missing profile photos while using Find Friends.
